When Monique first contacted me about her maternity portraits, I was instantly so excited! She had the most amazing ideas (and outfits) so naturally I wanted to photograph them all, and then some! We started the shoot off at my home in Fair Oaks Ranch, TX, aka La Casa Chic (I also rent this space out to other photographers, because it's AWESOME.) For the La Casa Chic set, Monique wore the most elegant black turtleneck dress. It seriously popped against the white walls and was basically the classiest thing EVER! We also did a few photos in the upstairs bedroom with her red dress which she rented from Mama Bump Rentals. After we finished up the indoor photos, we made a quick pit stop at one of my all time favorite places, Hill Country African Violets & Nursery, where Monique's husband Garrett met us, and stepped in for a couple quick poses. We got the most epic photos from this set... as in, I definitely squealed out loud upon clicking the shutter and peeking at the back of the camera! And finally, we ended the morning at Open Trail Ranch for a few photos with horses. Monique grew up with horses and her family even donated a 30 year old miniature horse to the ranch, so this location was very important to her and her family. There were a few initial hiccups due to the nature of working with animals, but I'm pleased to say, we eventually got exactly what we envisioned and I honestly couldn't be happier with how this all came out!
Seriously though, could she be any more gorgeous?!
Also, black and white or color?! SOOO MANY CHOICES HERE. Fun fact, Monique couldn't decide either, she literally picked every single photo for her custom lay-flat heirloom album, and I can't say I blame her!
We also did a few mirror photos, because there's just something about a good a reflection photo that gets us every time!

Maternity goals, y'all. These photos from African Violets Nursery are EVERYTHING that my photographer heart has ever wanted!
I loved this cream colored dress so much! It was also a rental from Moma Bump Maternity.
And this horse was the most majestic animal! It took some time, but we finally got "the shot."
CONGRATULATIONS MONIQUE & GARRETT! I am so happy for you both, and cannot wait to document many more amazing memories for your growing family!
